What former participants are saying

"I learned a lot during the challenge, and I look forward to spending some time doing this. These practices are such logical approaches. I never would have thought of doing these.”

James F.

Florida, USA

"When you eat, sometimes there'll be a subtle flavor that doesn't necessarily stand out. But now, I'm doing it mindfully and thinking, well, what was that? What made that difference? And then, I can go back and figure out what it was."
Victoria C.

British Columbia, Canada

"One of the key learning moments thus far has been to recognize that for the most part, I have been ignoring the aromas around me. Hence, losing the opportunity to broaden my repertoire of associations."
Bob M.

New York, USA

Isabelle Lesschaeve, PhD

Principal, InnoVinum Academy and Lead instructor

Hi, I'm Isabelle Lesschaeve
Founder and Principal of InnoVinum Academy, an online education platform created to demystify wine-tasting rituals and help you develop your palate.

I teach and coach serious wine lovers worldwide and help them sharpen their tasting skills using proven sensory science frameworks.

While being born and raised in a French culture gave me multiple opportunities to learn about wine, it doesn’t give me the required credentials to be your instructor.

So here’s more.

  • I earned my Ph.D. in Sensory Science from the University of Burgundy, France.
  • I have worked in the wine industry for over 20 years and taught wine sensory evaluation to graduate students at Brock University and other colleges.
  • My research work appeared in more than 50 peer-reviewed academic publications and several book chapters.
  • I had the privilege to be a keynote speaker at major conferences including the International Cool Climate Wine Symposium and the Australian Wine Technical Conference.
  •  I serve the American Wine Society Educational Foundation as VP of scholarship to support the next generation of North American wine professionals.
