Dr. Isabelle Lesschaeve, founder of InnoVinum, has an extensive experience in the field of sensory evaluation of food and beverages. She is one of the few international specialists in sensory evaluation of wines. Isabelle is the author or co-author of 35 publications. She is regularly invited to share her work and experience at international symposiums.

In 2008, Lesschaeve was appointed Director of Consumer Insights and Product Innovation at the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre. From 2004 to 2008 she held an academic appointment at Brock University (St.Catharines, Ontario) and headed its Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute (CCOVI) between 2004-2008.

Her research interests focus on the understanding of factors affecting wine consumer behaviour in different purchase and consumption contexts. Partnering with consumer psychologist Dr. Antonia Mantonakis, she created the Consumer Laboratory concept where both expertise teamed up to advance knowledge in consumer wine preferences and behaviours.
